I am a mom. I am a mom from the moment my alarm goes off at 6:45am until 8pm at night. Who am I kidding? I am a mom all day, everyday! Those 2am “mom, I feel sick” calls from my kids’ beds get me every time. You’re never really off duty when you’re a mom.
A typical day involves getting the girls ready for school, making lunches, getting them fed, taking them to school, pick them up after work, helping with homework, getting the oldest to volleyball practice, and then our night time routine. It can be overwhelming and stressful, but I get the ish done!
Don’t get me wrong, I love being a mom, but I spread myself pretty thin at times. What can I say? It’s all for them. While I would love to think I am supermom and that I can do it all, let’s face it, I can’t. Mama needs a break or she is going to lose her shit. So mama’s girls’ night is where it’s at! As much as I love a night in my pjs with a glass of wine, I love my bunco girls’ night just as much!
Mom’s Letting Loose
We have an awesome group of moms from my daughter’s school who get together once a month and play bunco. It’s our one Friday night with no kids and no husbands. We eat, we drink, and we laugh until we cry.
All moms deserve to let their hair down, laugh a little, and have a drink with friends. Or maybe you prefer some alone time. Who doesn’t love a Target or Hobby Lobby trip with no kids or husband in tow?
Being a mom, you get stuck in the daily routine and we need to help ourselves to help others. Finding that balance of fun and family is hard, but it can be done. Let’s face it, I really am just winging it on the daily, trying to make it look like I have it all together.
