Raise your hand if you love a good soak in a warm (or scorching hot) bath! If you’re looking to upgrade your bath game, this simple DIY vegan milk bath recipe will do the trick.

If you’re not normally a “bath person”, hear me out.

Baths are like a cure-all. Baths can help alleviate aches and pains, relieve stress, calm anxiety, and make you feel better when you’re sick. A hot bath is my go-to when I’m feeling sad, dealing with period cramps, or my sinuses are acting up. Baths are also a simple, yet effective way to practice self-care. Whether you enjoy a good soak or you’re just dipping your toes into the idea (see what I did there?), you will just want to melt into the bathwater with this DIY vegan milk bath recipe.

DIY Vegan Milk Bath Recipe

What you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup Epsom salt
  • 1 cup powdered coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender
  • 20 drops of lavender essential oil

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Start with the dry ingredients first, then add the essential oil. Add 1/4 – 1/2 cup to your bath under warm running water. Soak and relax, but don’t forget to rinse after.

This recipe should last anywhere from 3-6 baths, depending on how much you use per bath. Use once a week or once every other week for soft and moisturized skin. Store it in an air-tight container to keep it fresh.

How easy is that!?

If you’re not a fan of lavender, you can easily sub it out for something else. Try dried rose petals and rose essential oil instead.

*Side note: If you’re worried about the clean up (it’s not that bad, I swear), you can use half the amount of dried lavender or skip it completely. I think the dried lavender is totally worth it, though!

Epsom Salt

Using Epsom salt in your bath can help alleviate sore muscles and stiff joints. Epsom salt can help with skin irritation and inflammation. It’s also known to help relieve stress and some swear it can help your body eliminate toxins. According to one pharmacist, it may even give your metabolism a boost. Talk about too good to be true! It’s worth a shot, though, right?
